WHO AM I??

Well I am flattered. Despite my horrible introduction page, you have decided to come see this page about myself! I promise to give you a good page then, as a thanks for coming! My name is Jennifer Marie Reed, I'm 22 years old(23 in January).

I was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. Before the Coen Brother's movie Fargo, no one seemed to even know this state exists. Most people only knew it as one of those cold states up north, and is a state that got very little media attention until the Mall of America was built. After that, they started filming movies here, like Fargo(well, part of it), and Jingle All the Way, a film with Arnold and Sinbad.

In June of 1998, I graduated from the University of California at Irvine, with a degree in Planetary Studies with a minor in Astrophysics. I loved my school, and chose it because I had heard they have on of the best planetary studies programs in the nation...also, Cal Tech rejected me and UCI offered me a partial scholarship along with a good financial aid package, so I couldn't refuse. I must confess, I hated UCI the first 2 years I was there. I almost transferred to a state college back home. But I stuck around, and I was sure glad I did. Just to fulfill my foreign language requirement, I decided to take Russian. My grandmother is Russian, and I thought she would be proud of me. Well, my Russian professor was so beautiful and inspirational! His name is Dr. Mikhail Domashev(aka Domas) and he made this class so much fun! After that, I hit it off with his SON Vladdie and the whole Russian crowd. I was so sad to leave CA after graduation.

I used to work at the Minneapolis Planetarium. I didn't get paid much, but I did what I loved most, which is study about the planets! Ever since I was a young girl, I've watched stars. I feel like Jodie Foster in the movie Contact when I say this, but I had my first telescope at age ten, went to Spacecamp at age 12, got on the NASA mailing list at 13, and I'm still on the mailing list today! I have over 100 CD-Roms of planets, and over 50 posters and pictures up on my walls of my room. I'm extremely excited because I've been invited to see the last Solar Eclipse of the Millenium! This cannot be seen anywhere in the United States, so we're going to the Black Sea in Odessa, Ukraine, to see it in 1999. I am so ecstatic I can hardly contain myself! This past week, I was offered a position in research at NASA in Houston, TX! So I resigned from my position at the planetarium to work for NASA starting in January. I can't wait!

I actually do have other hobbies(even though most of my time is spent in outer space!), such as being silly, downhill skiing, rock climbing, shopping, going to Canada, the theater, and the latest episodes of Dawson's Creek and Melrose Place...I almost forgot, I'm looking for Mr. Right.

Well, that wraps it up. ,If I missed anything, please feel free to email me, because I love mail. [email protected]

OH. And sign my guestbook. Please.
